Who we are
Ogilvie Hayes Tree and Garden Services is a family business rooted in
Edinburgh. Nico & Ailidh established the business after coming together
in 2017. “We work together daily as Yin and Yang, balancing the
Symbiosis that’s required for business, nature and family.”
Nico is a Qualified Arborist completing his training in 2011 working
within the ancient woodland of Epping Forest, north London, focusing on
Conservation, Arboriculture and Veteran Tree Management. After
completing his training, Nico worked for various Arboricultural outfits,
ultimately working on Vancouver Island in Canada for a non-profit, West
Coast Forestry organization…
which concentrated on woodland restoration projects to re-introduce
woodland bio-diversity, after intensive logging in the late 19 th Century - a
time where there was no legislation to re-plant after clear cutting. A short

Nico went on to plant trees over in British Columbia before returning to
the UK and establishing a large Arboricultural outfit north of London,
finally heading north where Ogilvie Hayes Tree and Garden Services
began.

Ailidh laid the roots for the business in 2017, bringing her multiple skills
set to the company, encompassing all aspects of the arboricultural industry
from legislation to customer relations, administration, accounts and hard
graft onsite in the good, old, wet, Scottish days we all know so well.
Ailidh’s kind demeanour, willing approach and organisational qualities are
an asset to the business, keeping Nico on his toes and Chainsaw in hand.
Ailidh is also a Fully Qualified Yoga Teacher as well as a Grounds Worker

We are an official Edinburgh Trusted Trader and are here to provide our customers with quality, safe, and environmentally-friendly Tree & Hedge services.
We have first class equipment provided for the job and our staff are qualified through LANTRA & NPTC arboricultural courses along with additional ABC / Tree life courses. We are a registered to carry waste with the Scottish environmental protection agency - our license number is - WCR/R/3013116
We work closely with all our tree work to British Standards: BS3998 , BS8545 and currently revised arboricultural practices as the industry evolves.

We are happy to come and quote jobs for free and give advice on tree and garden work. We cover City of Edinburgh, East & West Lothian as well as all of Midlothian, occasionally going further afield.
